I have been a part of Agile teams for over a decade. I am currently serving in the United States Army. I consider the Military a Agile team. Here’s why Agile organizations consists of networks of teams. The networks are leveraged to foster rapid learning and decision making. Agile organizations also create shared understanding and craft a common purpose. Finally, they gather new information and allow the teams closest to the data to make decisions on how to proceed. Quite simply, agile companies combine speed and adaptive capacity with stability and efficiency.

In my current position, I have not had experience using Agile teams. However, I have done research into adapting this as a process for my current position. After looking into the Agile teams, a benefit to using this is better control, increased flexibility, and improved team morale. As a supervisor, the team that I work with has challenges using a team effort to complete a project. Agile teams can help develop their ability to work together by creating a boundary where team members can express their concerns and collaborate together. This not only builds my team together but also increases flexibility. This will empower my team to work together without causing conflict and creates a team that is built on honesty and collaboration. The team has a better control on the project if they have these qualities. However; some challenges I foresee with this method is the lack of planning. Because a team can be independent in their ways, we must focus on creating a plan together rather than the individuals creating a plan by themselves. This can be overcome by enforcing team members to work together to create a simplified workforce team.
